"Professor Higgins. English without accent!" - is a full phonetic, lexical and grammatical multimedia reference training designed for those who wish (regardless of initial level of knowledge) to learn to understand colloquial speech and speak grammatically, with good distinct pronunciation (variant of Bi-bi-si, which is the norm of speech on British television). Training is based on comparing their own pronunciation with reference not only to hearing but also visual graphs on the monitor screen that became possible due to original technology of separation and recognition of sound parts of words - phonemes.
The principal difference of this manual from earlier versions is that it improved the objective assessment of correctness of pronunciation in the scores on ten-point system and presentation of the result of the comparison of the pronunciation of a student and the benchmark in the form of 2D and 3D graphs. This allows the user to accurately identify and correct mistakes in pronunciation in the process of training.
The program is designed according to the principle "from simple to difficult" (sounds, words, phrases, audiotraining, dictation, thematic dialogues, Proverbs, tongue twisters, poems and stories), includes theoretical materials (rules, schemes, explaining examples), dictionaries (General dictionary and a dictionary of homonyms) and user manual. Learning grammar is based on interactive exercises. Reference training was voiced by bill Shepherd, coordinator of the Syndicate examinations in English as a foreign language at the University of Cambridge.
